Prof. Ye Hailin, Director General of IWAAS, CASS, and President of CAI, President of Chinese Society of South Asia Studies, Vice President of Chinese Society of Emerging Economies, Member of Governing Board of Ecomonic Research Institute of ASEAN.

Prof. Ye graduated from School of International Studies, Peking University with a Master degree of Law in 2000. He served as a Police Officer with rank of Superintendent Class 2 and 1 from 2000 to 2003, and Third Secretory in Chinese Embassy in Ankara from 2003 to 2005. He joined in CASS in 2006. He was appointed as Deputy Director General of NIIS,CASS in 2019 and DG of IWAAS/CAI in 2024. He published various books such as Study on Contemporary Sino-Indian Relationship (2018), Understanding Pakistan (2008). His major expertise is Chinese Foreign Policy, Regional Security and Geopolitics.
