On March 28, 2019, Dr. Seyed Kazem Sajjadpour, Director of the Institute for Political and International Studies (Iran) led a three-member delegation to visit the Institute of West-Asian and African Studies (IWAAS). Dr. Sajjadpour expounded his views on several issues, including the change of the Middle East situation, the transition of major regional countries’ role and status during the process of interaction, competition and the transfer of power, Iran’s geopolitical advantages, and great powers’ Middle East policies. Then, Dr. Sajjadpour discussed with experts from IWAAS and answered questions from the floor, concerning Iran-Saudi relations, JCPOA, U.S.’s sanctions against Iran and U.S.-Iran talks, U.S.’s Afghanistan policies, the game between Israel and Iran in Syria, the prospect of Iran-Turkey cooperation and Iran-India cooperation, the election in Algeria and Iran’s domestic political trend. Professor Tang Zhichao, Director of Division of Middle East Studies presided over the meeting, in which Professor Wei Min, Professor Yu Guoqing, Associate Professor Wang Feng, Dr. Wang Jinyan, Dr. Wei Liang and Dr. Lu Jin also participated.
