On June 18, 2019, Emad Abshenass, an Iranian scholar, was invited to visit the Institute of West-Asian and African Studies (IWAAS). Professor Tang Zhichao presided over the meeting, and scholars included Associate Professor Lu Jin participated. Scholars had discussions on issues including Shinzo Abe’s visit to Iran and Iran’s reaction to it, Iran’s official views on G20, Saudi Arabian domestic politics and Saudi-Iran relations, US-Iran relations and the Iran Nuclear Deal, Iran-EU relations and the prospect of INSTEX had set by UK, France and Germany, Iran’s Influence to neighbor countries, opportunities and challenges of economic cooperation between China and Iran, Iran people’s anti-pressure capability when facing US sanctions, imports and exports in Iran and its tariffs.
