On the morning of July 11, 2019, Guo Jun, Under-Secretary-General of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Li Xiaoyan, Director of the Foreign Affairs Bureau of CPPCC, visited China-Africa Institute, and made the in-depth exchange with Li Xinfeng, Executive Vice-President of the China-Africa Institute and General-Director of IWAAS and Cheng Hong, Head of Scientific Research Department of IWAAS.
Vice-President Li Xinfeng briefly introduced the background, purpose and position of the establishment of China-Africa Institute and its organizational structure. He also introduced to the guests the main research fields of China-Africa Institute, and the exchange and cooperation situation at home and abroad.
Under-Secretary-General Guo Jun introduced the CPPCC's exchange situation with Africa and said that the CPPCC should set up special agency to strengthen exchanges with Africa, to carry out friendly exchanges and cooperation with Africa at various levels and in various fields, and to help to build a China-Africa community with a shared future.
The two sides decided to strengthen the cooperation in the future through joint exchanges and mutual visits, seminars, domestic and foreign research, and further publicity and promotion to Africa.
