On September 3, 2020, Professor Shi Yinhong, director of the Academic Committee of the School of International Relations of Renmin University of China and director of the Center for American Studies, was invited to deliver an academic lecture entitled "America's Strategic Posture toward China and China's Foreign Relations and Strategic Response" at the Institute of West-Asian and African studies, Chinese Academy of Social Science（IWAAS,CASS）.Wang Lincong, deputy director of the (IWAAS,CASS), delivered a welcome speech. Wang Feng, director of the International Relations Department of the（IWAAS,CASS）, presided over the lecture.

 Professor Shi 's lecture focused on the profound impact of the Pandemic (COVID-19) on the US, the basic situation of the US strategy towards China, the basic environment of China's external relations, the changes in the future the world situation, China's strategic response and other aspects.

Professor Shi pointed out that the current US strategic shift towards China has changed the basic environment of China's foreign relations. We should adopt a precise approach, maintain strategic patience and strategic flexibility, and respond to new challenges that are increasingly complex and variable.At the same time, we should adapt to the new changes and carefully study and judge the future trend of the world situation and China's strategic choice.

At the end of the lecture, Professor Shi had an active and warm discussion and exchange views with experts in the field of Middle East and Africa studies.

Researcher Wang Lincong gave a summary of the meeting.He pointed out that the lecture given by professor shi very large amount of information, distinct viewpoints and he carried on the thorough analysis and wonderful China-US relations on the current international situation and proposed the solution,the lecture embodies the patriotism of the professor. And It is of great significance for us to observe the great changes which unseen in a century, and to carry out countermeasures research and discipline construction.

The lecture is jointly organized by the Research Office of International Relations, (IWAAS,CASS) and the "Contemporary Middle East Studies" project, which is a strategic superiority subject of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. About 50 scholars from（IWAAS,CASS）attended the lecture.
