"The Second China Lecture: Poverty Alleviation Stories of Xi Jinping" was held

On October 22, 2020, the "Second China Lecture: “Poverty Alleviation Stories of Xi Jinping" was held offline and online. The main venue of the Lecture was in Beijing. The parallel sessions were located in Lagos University, Nigeria, and Makeni University in Sierra Leone. Li Xinfeng, Executive Vice President of the CAI presided over the opening ceremony of the Lecture and delivered a speech.Li Xinfeng, Dr. Adetoro Banwo, a scholar of the Confucius Institute at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and Dr. Deng Yanting, a scholar of the CAI, were the main speakers of the Lecture.They successively delivered speeches around "Poverty Alleviation Stories of Xi Jinping", and played photos of Xi Jinping's poverty alleviation work, as well as videos about introduction and poverty alleviation in Xiangxi and Kashgar.A total of more than 70 experts and scholars from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Namibia, Zimbabwe and other countries attended the Lecture.

"China Lecture" is one of the brand projects to be built by the CAI. Relevant Chinese experts and scholars, as well as African experts and scholars who have research on China-related issues, can jointly introduce and tell stories and cases about China, as well as relevant experiences and lessons, to Africa in this Lecture. The "First China Lecture" was held on September 7, 2020, with the theme "China's  Practices and Achievements in Poverty Elimination".
