China’s Practices in Inclusive Finance and Poverty Alleviation

The Eighth China Lecture, Beijing

 

BEIJING, July 14th The Eighth China Lecture was successfully held . The Online Lecture was jointly organized by the China-Africa Institute (CAI), the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (UCASS) and the Nigeria China Study Association (NCSA). The lecture was themed on “China’s Practices in Inclusive Finance and Poverty Alleviation”. Prof. Feng Xingyuan, researcher of Rural Development Institute Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and professor of UCASS, attended the lecture and delivered the main lecture. More than 30 officials and scholars from Nigeria and other African countries attended. Prof. Wang Xiaoming, Vice-President of CAI presided over the lecture and delivered the close summary.

 

In his lecture, Prof. Feng shared the valuable experience and practices of China’s poverty alleviation and rural inclusive finance. By the combination of conceptual methods and specific field cases analysis, Prof. Feng discussed the promotion of China’s micro-finance and inclusive finance policies on poverty alleviation form both theoretical and practical levels, as well as China’s police and strategic deployment, design of poverty alleviation standards, poverty exit mechanism, etc.

Some scholars from Nigeria also share the relevant experiences of poverty alleviation from their sides. By the joint brainstorm, exchange of ideas and in-depth discussions, both scholars from China and Africa had deepen their theoretical thinking in the field of poverty alleviation.
