On July 30, it was the second day of African Ambassador's visit to Yan'an organized by the China-Africa Institute.
The ambassadors are visiting the Liangjiahe Village History Museum
The first stop was to visit Liangjiahe Village in Yanchuan County. At the Liangjiahe Village History Museum, the ambassadors learned about the development of Liangjiahe Village after the founding of the PRC, the experience of agricultural life of Beijing educated youth when they took part in down to the Countryside movement here, and Liangjiahe’s road to prosperity after the reform and opening up. They personally felt Liangjiahe’s achievements in industrial innovation, infrastructure construction and people’s livelihood security, etc.
The ambassadors are visiting the cave dwellings where the educated youth lived
At the former site of the educated youth in Liangjiahe, the ambassadors visited the cave dwellings where President Xi Jinping lived when he experienced the agricultural life in Liangjiahe Village, as well as the tailors’, grocery, balcksmith’s which were founded by the idea of Xi Jinping when he was the party secretary of the Liangjiahe. He also lead people build the first biogas digester in Shaanxi Province. In contrast between the present and the past, the earth-shaking changes in Liangjiahe Village allowed the ambassadors to fully appreciate the infinite power of the spirit of "self-reliance and hard work". The Ambassador of Ethiopia to China stated that President Xi Jinping’s life as an educated youth has shaped his scientific governance philosophy. It is under the support of this philosophy that China has become the world’s second largest economy. The Ambassador of Zimbabwe to China believes that the close contact between the CPC and the people is the key to success, ensuring that the government’s governance serves the people. The Ambassador of Mauritius to China said that the earth-shaking changes that have taken place in Liangjiahe fully reflect China's achievements in poverty elimination, and these extraordinary changes experienced by Liangjiahe Village are the epitome of China's huge leap forward.
The ambassadors are visiting the former site of the 7th National Congress of the CPC
The second stop is the former site of the Yangjialing. Yangjialing was the residence in the leadership of the CPC Central Committee from November 1938 to March 1947 . From April 23 to June 11, 1945, the CPC held the 7th National Congress there.
In the Central Auditorium where the 7th National Congress of the CPC was held, the ambassadors showed great interest in the internal furnishings of the auditorium and its symbolic significance. In particular, they have deep impression on Mao Zedong's inscription for the Congress was the theme of "One Heart and One Mind". Through the visit, they learned about the historical background, process and milestones of the 7th National Congress of the CPC. The ambassadors believe that the spirit of the 7th National Congress of the CPC still leads the party and the Chinese people to move forward. The Ambassador of Burkina Faso to China said that the visit to this site made him feel excited, and the visit was a spiritual pilgrimage. He said that he was shocked by the fact that the CPC was able to build the Central Auditorium under the difficult circumstances at that time. It also indicated that the leaders of the CPC could lead the Chinese people to stand up and become rich. The Ambassador of Namibia to China said that he was deeply moved by standing at the site of the 7th National Congress of the CPC in Yangjialing. He believes that the older generation of Chinese leaders have made significant contributions to the victory of the Chinese revolution and national liberation, and their spirit is worthy of being passed on and carried forward. Afterwards, the ambassadors visited the former residences of leaders such as Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Liu Shaoqi, and Zhou Enlai. The ambassadors were deeply moved by seeing the crude working and simple living environment of the older generation of leaders. The Permanent Representative of the African Union to China stated that the spirit of hard work of Chinese leaders has led the Chinese people to achieve one after another development. The humility, perseverance, selfless dedication and passion for the revolutionary cause of Chinese leaders are the secrets of China's achievements. The Ambassador of South Sudan to China said that by visiting the places where Chinese leaders worked, they deeply realized that the revolutionary achievements were hard-won, and their revolutionary enthusiasm and spirit still led China to move forward.
Zaoyuan
The third stop is the former site of the Zaoyuan. The ambassadors visited the location of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and the former residences of Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, and Ren Bishi. They learned about the historical background of Mao Zedong's visit to Chongqing for negotiations and experienced the scenes of the military and civilian mass production movement in the Liberated Area. The Ambassador of Somalia to China said that this visit made him deeply feel the heart of the CPC to serve the people and to exercise state power for the people. He believes that Mao Zedong and other leaders of China’s older generation not only laid a theoretical foundation for China’s revolutionary cause, but also contributed to leading China to achieve national liberation and independence, and to achieve China’s reunification and unity. The Ambassador of Namibia to China believes that Namibia and China have similar revolutionary experiences. Both countries have supported each other during the revolutionary years and forged a profound historical friendship, laying a solid foundation for China-Namibia relations. Under the leadership of the CPC, the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era is bound to usher in greater achievements. The Ambassador of Burkina Faso to China said that a down-to-earth and practical work style is the magic weapon for the CPC to achieve great achievements. The original intention of rooting in the masses and seeking happiness for the people has won the trust of the people. The Ambassador of Guinea-Bissau to China said that he was very pleased to see with his own eyes the achievements made by the CPC through arduous exploration and leadership of the Chinese people over the past 100 years. He believes that the Chinese leaders have continuously stimulated the enthusiasm and motivation of the broad masses by playing a leading and exemplary role, and have achieved victories time and time again. The Ambassador of Cameroon to China said that the trip to Yan'an was of great significance. The CPC ended the Long March in Yan'an and was preparing for the establishment of a new regime. Faced with various contradictions and difficulties in China, the CPC united the Chinese people. Guided by the spirit of seeking truth from facts, they formulated a revolutionary line that suits China's national conditions, and finally won the victory. The Yan'an spirit is worth inheriting and carrying forward, and it is worth learning from the people of other countries.
