On Nov. 15, 2023, the CAI delegation departed from Abuja for Lagos, Nigeria where the 17th China Lecture will be held. In the evening, the delegation met with Adetoro Banwo, vice-dean of the Confucius Institute, University of Lagos to discuss the plan of the lecture.

Welcome poster at the University of Lagos 

Themed at “Chinese Modernization and Africa’s Development”, the 17th China Lecture will be held on Nov. 16, 2023 at the University of Lagos. Welcome posters about the lecture were seen on campus.

Professor Folassade Tolulope Ogunsola, dean of University of Lagos, and Ms Yan Yuqing, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos will address the audience at the lecture. Members of the CAI delegation, professor Wang Yongzhong, professor Huang Juan and Dr. Zhao Yating will deliver keynote speeches respectively on “China’s experience in reform and opening-up & economic modernization and its enlightenment to Africa”, “Modernization of the China’s national governance system and capability”, “Enhancing South-South Cooperation in the context of Global Development Initiative (GDI) and Agenda 2063 of AU”.
