The Library and Division of Information is responsible for books, journals, data collections and Informatization work of the CAI. The Library of the CAI, specializing in Middle East and African studies, has a collection of more than 30,000 books.

The library subscribes to more than 300 specialized academic journals in Chinese, English, French, Arabic and other languages, all of which are core academic journals on Middle East and African studies. It now has more than 8,000 bound volumes of back issues.

The Institute of West-Asian and African Studies (IWAAS) Database has nearly 100,000 data items, including book catalog, bibliographic references to documents, full-text database and chronicle of events. The China-Africa Institute (CAI) Database includes nearly 20,000 items of full-text data.

The Library and Division of Information is also responsible for management and maintenance of CAI official websites and WeChat official platform. On April 9, 2024, the CAI launched its new English and Chinese websites to mark its 5th anniversary of establishment.

There are currently 5 staffs working in this division, including 1 associate research fellow, 1 librarian and 3 assistants. Wang Jian is the director of the division.
