Yao Guimei,  China-Africa Production Capacity Cooperation: Effectiveness, Problems and Prospects

  Abstract: Africa is an indispensable participating part of the Belt and Road Initiative. Under the framework of the FOCAC, China-Africa cooperation has achieved remarkable results in realizing China-Africa five-area-connectivity as the FOCAC mechanisms stress on action and set store by real results, China’s influence on Africa being on the rise. In fact, Africa has played a piloting role of “testing ground” for the Belt and Road construction. In the meantime, both China and Africa faces on some challenges in the fields such as politics, economy, social culture and so on. Looking ahead, the first Belt and Road International Summit will open up to Africa in all respects, the cooperation between China and Africa will face new connotations and opportunities, but the challenges remain daunting. In particular, under the new normal of multi-speed growth of African economies and the fragmented market characteristics of Africa, China-Africa production capacity China-Africa production capacity cooperation should be carried forward in an orderly manner.
