A HISTORICAL INSPECTION OF LIBYAN TRIBAL ISSUES

  Wang Jinyan

This book studies the origin, distribution, composition, and evolution of Libya's tribes from a historical perspective, explores the different roles of tribes in Libya’s different historical stages of development, and then reveals the relationship between the social evolution of tribes and the modernization process in Libya. In the long history of Libya, the tribe has always made both positive and negative impacts as a unique social form. Since 2011, tribal factors have become a key variable in Libya’s regime change and post-war reconstruction. In the future, tribal factors will continue to have a great influence on Libya’s regime construction, economic operation, social development, cultural forms, security governance and relations with neighboring countries for a long time and become a unique phenomenon in Libya’s modernization construction.
