The Belt and Road Initiative and the “Eight Major Initiatives” of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation

Abstract 

    At the FOCAC summit in Beijing 2018, China and Africa agreed to build the Belt and Road for a closer China-Africa community with a shared future and deepening cooperation and promoting co-development.The “Eight Major Initiatives” are concrete measures.Therefore, The “Eight Major Initiatives” have become an important window for reflecting the“China-Africa community with a shared future”.The projects embody the traditional value of China's cooperation with Africa, and are also concrete measures taken by China in the new era to pay attention to Africa's development needs and align with Africa's development needs.The “Eight Major Initiatives” have been implemented steadily with remarkable results during the COVID-19.In the light of the new severe challenges Africa facing, China-Africa Cooperation has become an important content to help Africa cope with the epidemic and get out of the predicament.
