Zhang Mengying

Zhang Mengying,  research fellow of the Institute of the West Asian and African Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (China-Africa Institute). She got the Bachelor of Economics with Honors, the Master of Economics and the PhD from the University of Alberta, the University of British Columbia and the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences respectively. Her research interests focus on African security and the area studies of the Horn of Africa. The recent publications include the academic book The Study on the Post-Cold War Armed Conflicts of the Horn of Africa, several CSSCI, AMI papers and national think tank reports, such as African Security and the Joint and High-quality Development of the One Belt and One Road Initiative between China and Africa, Africas Food Security Dilemma in the Context of Russia-Ukraine Conflict, The Root Causes of Refugee Crisis in the Horn of Africa and Its Governance Dilemma and etc. She is the participant of several national and ministerial level academic projects, such as the Multiple Volumes of the General History of Africa.
